In 1985, liposuction surgery was revolutionized by Dr Jeffrey A. Klein, a Californian dermatologist who developed a technique known as tumescent liposuction. Liposuction has grown in popularity since its introduction in the 1970s.
Prior to the development of tumescent liposuction, patients often experienced difficulties with unnecessary bleeding and a rippled effect on the skin. Traditional liposuction is typically more painful and takes patients much longer to recover compared with tumescent liposuction.
Tumescent Liposuction Is Safe And Comfortable
Through using tumescent liposuction at Sarasota Liposuction Center, I am able to carefully remove both superficial and deep fat layers to accomplish exceptional body sculpting results. Not only do my patients achieve their desired body shape, the procedure causes minimal discomfort and they are able to walk immediately after tumescent liposuction. Patients also heal quickly and experience less bleeding and bruising.
Strict bed rest is unnecessary with tumescent liposuction and I encourage patients to take long walks the day following tumescent liposuction. This helps to reduce the potential for clots forming in the legs. This is a very safe procedure with thousands of patients receiving tumescent liposuction since its introduction and no major complications have ever been reported.
Tumescent Liposuction Procedure Is Gentle
Tumescent liposuction is a safe and gentle procedure that is less invasive than other techniques such as Smart Lipo and Vaser. This is because of equipment we use which are instruments called cannulas that are tiny, delicate straw-like tubes used to remove fat. This allows for very specific targeting of trouble areas of the body with exceptional precision to gently remove large and small fatty deposits. Consequently, this meticulous sculpting technique produces outstanding body contouring.
Tumescent liposuction can be used to target fatty deposits located in all areas of the body, including the arms, knees, inner and outer thighs, buttock, love handles, hips, abdomen, neck and face. This is also the ideal procedure for any patient considering a Brazilian Butt Lift or buttock augmentation, as preserved fat cells can be easily transferred for buttock enhancement and Brazilian Butt Lift.
Although this procedure does require more of my time, I really appreciate this technique because the superior results are extremely rewarding for the patient as well as me. After 15 years as a practicing heart surgeon I take great pleasure from seeing my patients excited about their new appearance after undergoing what is a minor surgical procedure.
